This section on the site is to tell a little bit about ourselves, how the site came into being, and our positions within the organisation itself.

How B.I.R.D. came into being

Formerly known as IXXRA the site was originated by Anth Martin who has gone to pursue an alternative website covering the same subject matter

He leaves behind over 2000 members across all major continents making us truly "International" - many of these members, we are sure will join him in his new venture and we wish him well with that venture.

The current membership have posted over 200,000 posts on 20,00 subject lines in our members forum accumulating over 185,000 website hits.

John Smith "The BIRD Guru"

A few words about myself. I was born quite young and much to my shame have steadily got older. Although I look 58 but I am really 19. A wicked witch did this to me! At the age of 14 and ¾ I collected my first bike, swiftly followed by my first introduction to the lovely boys in blue and the first of many visits to the local court ! L L

In 1971 I moved to Norfolk in the east of England ( mainly to get away from plod ! ).

I have had way too many bikes, women, and careers ( though necessarily not in that order ! ) to list on here, but.

At this moment in time I own a 2000 Fi Blackbird,  a KDX250, a BMW 1150GS and a Honda 90 !. Whilst still on the subject of bikes, I try and build at least one special every  year. I have built all kinds of  bikes, from really wild chops back in the 70’s, to streetfighters, to my oddball DT ! This year it is a Monkey Bike of all things.

Although my first love has always been bikes I also hold a ham radio licence, and run a ham ‘packet radio BBS’ …
